SOLIDS PARMA RETURNS: THE REFERENCE EVENT FOR THE BULK MATERIALS INDUSTRY

On 11–12 February 2026, Fiere di Parma will host Italy’s only event dedicated to the processing, handling, analysis, and storage of bulk solid materials.

Parma, 17 June 2025 – Organized by Easyfairs Italy, the 2026 edition of SOLIDS, a strategic event for the process manufacturing industry and part of the European network of bulk handling events (Solids European Series), will take place on 11–12 February at the Fiere di Parma exhibition center. In Italy, it is the only event entirely dedicated to technologies for managing solid materials, including powders, granules, and bulk solids.

The numbers from the 2024 edition showed strong growth compared to the inaugural “zero edition” in 2023:

  • 1,702 professional visitors (+34%)
  • 143 exhibitors (+17%)
  • 90% of exhibition space already reconfirmed eight months ahead of the event

From 2026 onward, SOLIDS Parma will adopt a biennial schedule: a strategic choice aimed at ensuring increasingly relevant and practical content for visitors and exhibitors, while avoiding overlaps and redundancies.

CONTENTS

The next edition of SOLIDS will feature a conference and training program covering highly relevant topics for the sector, often not explored in depth at trade shows. For example, there will be a regulatory and legal focus on M.O.C.A. (Materials in Contact with Food) for gaskets and components, with insights on paper, glass, recycled plastic, metals, and new European regulations (Reg. EU 351/2025 and 2025/40).

The event will also cover the flow properties of powders and granular materials, focusing on proper characterization and classification (e.g., angle of repose, density, shear testing). Methods for determining the Flow Function and applying it, including a practical example of hopper design, will be demonstrated. Additionally, methods, tests, and data interpretation for optimizing industrial processes will be illustrated. Two round tables on textile and plastic recycling are also scheduled.

WHAT’S NEW

Among the innovations at SOLIDS 2026, the Innovation Gallery will showcase—both physically and digitally—the 10 most innovative technologies selected among exhibitors. Before the official announcement, visitors will be able to explore a wide range of solutions for the management, processing, and handling of bulk and powdered materials: pneumatic and mechanical conveying, dosing and mixing, filtration and dust removal, screening, weighing, packaging, process sensors, automation, and safety and sustainability technologies. Visitors will have the chance to vote for the best innovation directly at the fair.

A brand-new feature is the SOLIDS Parma Podcast, online from September 2025: a series of episodes dedicated to powders, granules, and bulk materials, designed for professionals in the food, chemical, plastic, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, mining, and manufacturing sectors. Each episode will cover real cases, common challenges, and cutting-edge technological solutions. Topics include, for example, nanofiber filters to reduce energy consumption and extend equipment life, and the most effective strategies for dust explosion protection. The podcast offers an opportunity to stay updated, exchange ideas, and remain connected with the technical community even beyond the fair.

TARGET AUDIENCE

SOLIDS Parma targets a qualified audience from diverse and cross-sector industries, including food (including pet food), chemical-pharmaceutical, cosmetic, nutraceutical, metallurgical, agricultural, rubber and plastics, and recycling. As usual, the expected profiles include top decision-makers: CEOs, technical directors, buyers, production managers, engineers, and technicians.
