Rotonivo® - Rotary paddle level switch
Rotonivo® - proven allrounder for point level measurement The Rotonivo® rotary paddle level switch from UWT operates reliably and maintenance-free and offers a compatible solution for plants for safe level detection in bulk solids. It has all current international approvals for use in gas and dust explosive atmospheres and is one of the first rotary vane detector certified according to SIL 2. Overfill protection and no-load protection are guaranteed for the long term. The three Rotonivo® rotary paddle level sensor series RN 3000, RN 4000 and RN 6000 cover the complete range of applications, from simple to extreme.

Vibranivo® - Vibration fork
Level detection with Vibration fork The Vibranivo® - vibrating fork for point level measurement, with its robust stainless steel extension and high sensitivity, is widely used in storage silos and process vessels. The Vibranivo® vibration level switch is robust, easy to operate and can, via its series range, be precisely configured for each application. Electronically stimulated piezos cause the fork to vibrate. As soon as the sensor is covered with material, the vibration is dampened and the resulting electrical current change causes the output signal to switch. Once the material level falls below the sensor, it is free to vibrate again and the output signal is reset. International approvals for use in hazardous locations (gas and dust).

RFnivo® RF 3000 - Capacitive level limit switch
The RFnivo® level limit switch is universally applicable in solids and liquids as a full, demand or empty detector in silos and containers. The different device versions withstand extreme process conditions and due to their stainless steel components, are very robust. The RFnivo® measures the capacitance between the probe and container wall. If the probe is covered by the product, the measured capacitance changes and a switching signal is activated. Since each container is different in geometry, the RFnivo® must be calibrated after installation. This is done automatically once the supply voltage has been connected or by pressing the calibration button on the unit. All versions of this device are complete with “Active Shield Technology” which ensures the probe is insensitive to any material build up or caking. This ensures complete reliability of the probe. International certifications for Hazardous Locations (gas and Dust Ex) ensure the device is suitable for a wide range of applications in all industries.

NivoBob® NB 3000 - Electromechanical lot system
Continuous Level Measurement The NivoBob® – series of plumb bob sensors is used for continuous level measurement within bulk storage silos and for interface measurement. The simple electromechanical measurement principle is a truly reliable all-rounder in most bulk materials. The sensor weight, made of a suitable material, attached to either a tape or rope is electromechanically lowered from the top into the vessel. Once the sensor weight rests on the material, the winding direction of the motor changes and the sensor weight is rewound to the upper stop position. For interface measurements, the sensor weight can be adjusted according to the density of the sediment. The distance is electronically measured and together with the programmed silo geometry information the microprocessors convert this distance into a volumetric output signal. The NivoBob® generates an analog 4-20 mA signal and a Modbus RTU or Profibus DP interface for the evaluation systems. As the system is immune to dust, dielectricity, conductivity, humidity and caking, the NivoBob® always delivers a reliable level signal. The system is simple to operate and extremely durable which keeps service and operating costs to an absolute minimum. UWT can offer a 5 year warranty on this product.

NivoBob® NB 4000 – microprocessor controlled measuring system
NivoBob® NB 4000 The challenge was an animal feed plant in Russia, required a reliable, maintenance free and economically priced content measurement for many of their storage silos (raw materials and granular). They were trying several technologies before approaching UWT for a solution. The difficulty in this application surely is the dusty environments as well as aggressive physical properties of some of the materials. The ideal solution from UWT is the NB 4200 electromechanical level measurement system which is well proven in this kind of applications around the globe. The big advantage is the easy operational set up as well as the long life time and the trouble free operation of this instrument. The electromechanical technology is insensitive of the physical material properties and is available in a tape version with an integrated tape cleaner that prevents the dust to enter into the mechanical chamber of the unit. This feature increases the life time of the units as it minimizes wear & tear. Another strong point for this instrument is the economical pricing of the instrument.

Capanivo® CN 4000 – Capacitive Level Limit Switch
The Capanivo® level limit switch can be used in many solids as a full, demand or empty detector. The robust, glass reinforced PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) sensor is even suitable for food applications whilst also resistant to many forms of aggressive material. The Capanivo® can be used in storage and process vessels, or in pipes, as a limit switch and spillage detector. The electrodes in the sensor make up a condensator. As the level of the material changes, the capacitance changes as well. The integrated electronics evaluate the change in capacity and convert it to a switching signal. The Capanivo® has approvals for hazardous Locations (Dust Ex) and is therefore suitable for use in most industries as a limit switch. • Price competitive level control device • Simple installation and set up, no calibration required • Maintenance free, corrosion resistant, suitable for a wide range of applications • Reliable and easy to operate measurement principle • Plastic or die-cast aluminium electronics housing • Protection class IP 66 • High sensitivity from a DK range of 1.6.

Mononivo® - Vibration Level Switch / Vibration Rod
Mononivo® single-rod limit switches for point level measurement are suitable for many applications within the bulk material handling industry as a full, demand or empty detectors for use in storage and process containers. Electronically stimulated piezos cause the probe to vibrate. As soon as the sensor is covered with material, the vibration is dampened and the resulting electrical current change causes the output signal to switch. The oscillation action of the probe ensures a certain amount of self-cleaning. The Mononivo® vibration level switch carries international approvals for use within explosive/dusty atmospheres. The robust stainless steel shaft and the device's high sensitivity make it an all-purpose limit switch.

NivoGuide® NG 3000 - Guided Radar Sensor / TDR for solids
Continuous level measurement with Guided Radar / TDR Guided radar sensors use so-called pulse technology to determine the level. An electromagnetic wave generated by the electronics is coupled to the probe and guided downward along the probe. When the wave hits the material surface, part of the energy is reflected. This so-called echo signal is also guided along the rod back to the electronics, detected by them and converted into a level indication via a transit time measurement. With pulse technology, the running time is thus measured directly. Guided radar sensors are used in both bulk solids and liquid applications.

Interface Measurement - Solids in Liquids
There are several industries where sludge levels or solids in liquids need to be detected. For example, in sediment tanks or basins, filters or lamella separators in the metal industry, in chemical plants, in lime or gravel works and in the wastewater industry. What matters here is the measurement accuracy and also durability of the sensor technology. Pollution, chemicals and gases often have a negative affect on the sensors and require special resistance. Continuous level measurement: The plumb bob series NivoBob® NB 3300/3400 meets the requirements of many interface measurements and are very reliable due to the simple measuring principle. A 4-20mA analog signal as well as a Modbus RTU/Profibus DP interface are available for level evaluation. Level limit measurement: Vibration forks of the Vibranivo® series VN 1000 or VN 5000 can be used to measure limit levels of slurries and solids in liquids. The wetted parts are made of resistant stainless steel. With the VN 1030 and VN 5030 versions, even depths of approx. 4m can be realized when installed from above in a tank or basin. The high sensitivity required for the respective solids detection can be easily set on the electronics.
